What is split-system air conditioning?

Single-room cooling

A split-system is designed to cool one room, and they vary in size (measured in kWs) depending on the amount of cooling required. The cooling enters the room through the head unit installed inside on the wall, which is ‘split’ from the condenser which must be installed outside.

Installing split-system air conditioning

Installing a split-system is simpler and cheaper than a ducted system, and can be quickly installed in new or existing homes. An experienced and fully RAC-licenced installer is still a necessity though, as care must be taken to properly install the ducting between the condenser and head unit.
